A Silver For The Team!

Masum has reached its end this morning, with our team had managed eventually to earn

a silver medal!

However, for 8+, the race was not on our side as the final of boat 8 was considered tough and full with adrenaline.Good and improved perfomance from our 8+ crew!

The silver was awarded to our 4+ crew, with a staggering fight between UTHM, USM and UM!

Congratulations to our team for their effort to give full commitment during MASUM! Let us shall again roar for our next event, URI!!

A little catalyst for 09/10

In light of the next race season, I've put up a video for the team to remember how it aches to loose, just so that we learn from the past. The URI 2008 M8+ race as seen by the eyes of an UTHM cameraman. Hope it does the same for the rest of us. Win this event guys. This is a race that we can not loose the next URI. UNITEN Rowing Invitational 2008 (OVERALL RESULTS)

Finally UNITEN ROWING INVITATIONAL 2008 has ended yesterday and this year overall champions is UTM. UTM have retained their URI overall champion for four years in a row. But UNITEN have shown some qualities improvement when they became runners up for overall champion just a few points behind UTM.

There were only four even participated by UNITEN in the final round and the results are shown below:

Women's Single Scull (W1X) - BRONZE
Men's Four Coxless (M4-) - SILVER
Men's Eight (M8+) - BRONZE
Ergometer Challenge

Therefore, hopefully we all as UNITEN's Athlete will improve ourselves to compete in the future rowing tournament and bring back gold medal as what all of us dream of. The next rowing competition will be Varsity Boat Race!

UNITEN Rowing Invitational 2008

Uniten Rowing Invitational is about to begin in a few hours from now. There are a lot of participants from various local universities such as UTM, MMU, USIM, UTHM, UM and Uniten. Not to mention, there are also participation from universities outside Malaysia such as from Phillipines and Hong Kong. The passion of rowing can be felt now among the athletes or in other word called ROWERS.

Hopefully, in the year 2008 we can bring the trophy back to Uniten because Uniten have organized this event for about 3 years and Uniten never brought back the trophy since lost to UTM all those days. So hopefully, we can increase our spirit and enthusiasm to beat every single universities. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!

Any updates will be informed here in this blog for these coming three days since URI will be started from 7 August to 10 August.

Great news rowers!

Despite of late call for our participation in this year MASUM, with lack of training and fitness level, among sudden grouped crews, UNITEN Rowers proved that we can gain something which is not impossible! I hereby state the Masum results of our crew members achievements :

Boat 4- : No 3 in RepChange
Boat 4+ : Silver Medalist!
Boat 8+ : Silver Medalist!

Womens Category:

Boat 4- : No 2 in RepChange
Boat 4+ : No 3 in Semis

Congrats to our medal grabbers! For those who did not do well, do not quickly feel disappointed.We personally would like to show our gratitude and thankful for your willingness to join this last minute call event, especially for new rowers, not only to get real race experience, but to tighten up our relationship as family crew.As for the will be-retired rowers, millions of thanks for your contributions and helps up until today which is much appreciated. And for the upcoming URI, let us all train hard to achieve something higher!
